Please find below the consultation document for Diocesan and Payne
Smith Church of England Primary School, in respect of Admissions in
September 2009.
Diocesan and Payne Smith Primary has
a strong family approach. As a Voluntary Aided Church of England School
we do have strong links with the local church and all children will
through the natural course of the year make regular visits to both the
parish church of All Saints’, and the Cathedral. In respect of our
Nursery, however, the Governing Body will give priority to pupils that
are part of the Nursery.
Criteria for Admission:
1) Children in Local Authority Care
2)
Children with a demonstrable educational, medical or social need,
supported by professional evidence, as determined by the Pre-School
Panel in liaison with the Headteacher.
3) Children with siblings already in the school at time of entry
4) Children already in Nursery class of the school.
5) Membership of the Church:
a) Active membership of the Church of England of the family and child.
b) Active membership of other Canterbury churches affiliated to Christians Together in Canterbury
c) Baptised members of Church of England.
6) Proximity of the child’s home to the school as measured by the
shortest available walking route, with those living nearer the school
being accorded the higher priority.
